Stephen King novels turned comic-books
I finally received the first 3 graphic novels of Marvel’s Dark Tower series. And they are amazing, both in wonderful artwork and in gripping, Stephen King, story-telling. Naturally, after the success of Dark Tower implementation, other Stephen King novels started to become comic books. The Stand, also by Marvel, is an apocalyptic battle between good and evil while The Talisman (co-written by...

Dave McKean - 'Cages' Film
Possibly my favourite illustrator, Dave McKean is also a comicbook artist, photographer, designer, sculptor and, even, film-maker of sorts. After the magical Mirrormask, he’s now working on a new film, animated this time - Cages.

Y: The Last Man
I started reading this comicbook by Vertigo/ DC Comics recently and I definitely recommend it. It’s about a world where suddenly every man dies, every one with a Y chromosome - with the apparent exception of a young man and his male pet monkey. I’ve only read the first graphic novel of the series and it was great! Here’s a PDF of issue 1

Windows 7 wallpapers
Naturally, most of us Apple-friendly designers, are instinctively against any Microsoft-related product, especially from an aesthetic point of view. However, I just had a look at these original desktop themes for the new Windows 7 OS. They were commissioned by 72 and Sunny that collaborated with 12 artists from around the world- and they are wonderful.

Luke Jerram’s glass sculptures of various disease viruses, are an exploration “between the artworks’ beauty and what they represent, their impact on humanity”. And they are truly stunning.
